What Is Maritime Duct Cleaning

Ducts and conduits become blocked with debris, germs,  and invisible airborne particles, causing unhealthy and potentially dangerous conditions on maritime vessels. We offer a comprehensive support and sanitation services for all maritime vessels, and offshore oil and gas platforms, including:

  • HVAC & Duct Cleaning

Ducts and conduits become blocked with debris, germs, and invisible airborne particles, causing unhealthy and potentially dangerous conditions on maritime vessels. We clean and sterilize air duct systems on boats, offshore platforms, and cruise ships, providing healthier and safer work environments for employees and guests.

  • Mould Remediation

Mold can cause unhealthy conditions for offshore workers. We use environmentally friendly mold remediation techniques to remove mold from your air ducts and surfaces, providing inhabitants with healthy air.

  • Interior Sanitation & Surface Decontamination

We sterilize interior surfaces with natural and green eco-friendly chemicals, to prevent disease and infection.

  • Smoke & Odour Elimination

The nature of offshore vessels allows for the buildup of smoke and odor. Our smoke and odor removal process will leave your platform, boat, or ship free of odour, creating a more pleasant living environment for workers and guests.

When Should Your Marine Air Duct System Be Cleaned?

  1. Insufficient Air Flow.
  2. Noticeable Odors From Registers.
  3. Mold Visibly Present On Registers.
  4. Frequent Respiratory Problems Of Crew.
  5. Moisture Exists Within The Duct System.
  6. Vermin (Rodents, Insects) Infest The System.
  7. System Has Never Been Cleaned Or Not In The Past Three Years.
  8. Required By Your Company As A Preventative Maintenance Program.

Hepa Filters Two Rules

A Contaminated Hvac Systems Links Everything Basically, anything and everything that can become airborne is a potential contaminant within an HVAC system.

Rule 1:
HEPA filters can remove a portion of upstream contamination.
It is just as important to understand what a HEPA filter cannot do as well as what it can do.

No HEPA filter can reduce the amount of contamination introduced downstream of the filter. Repeat No HEPA filter can reduce the amount of contamination introduced downstream of the filter. While this may seem inherently obvious, it is amazing how many times the excuse that “the HEPA filters will take care of it”, is used!

Rule 2:
HEPA filters cannot remove contamination introduced downstream of the filter. And that’s the truth!

Our Maritime Duct Cleaning Process

Step One
Run 8-inch vacuum line to the supply and return trunk line of the vessel, which puts the system under negative vacuum.

Step Two
Remove and wash all vent covers.

Step Three
190 pounds of force per square inch (psi) of compressed air and/or air charge dislodgers are brought to every single vent in your home to force all dust and debris back to the main trunk line.

Step Four
Air charged dislodgers are then sent down all main trunk lines to dislodge all dust and debris as the negative vacuum pulls contaminants back into the vacuum truck.

Step Five
The blower motor compartment of your air handler unit (hvac system) is cleaned and sanitized.

Step Six
Finally, Your Hvac System Is Treated With An Zeffer Bio Friendly Anti-Microbial Treatment Utilized To Kill Any future Mold Or Bacteria Growth.

Air Purification Gel – ( 4 kg block )

The AHU 4 Kg container is ideally suited for, Commercial & Industrial Units / Offshore Oil Rigs / Marine Vessels / Hotels and Large Shopping Centers etc.

Controls and prevents the growth of harmful organisms which are found in the damp and wet environments within evaporative cooling systems.
Releases the natural benefits of Pure Tea Tree Oil providing microbiological, viral and fungal control and prevention measures in evaporative cooling systems.

Air Conditioning Units, are a potential source of Legionnaires’ disease. Additionally, an unhygienic system may lead to the growth of slime (biofilm) which can clog or foul system components (including the pads) which result in restricting the airflow and cooling capacity of the system. Any slime in your system is an indication it is cultivating harmful bacteria.
